This photo session was extra sweet to be a part of because it was a surprise gift to be given by parents to their beloved daughter. When their daughter was young, they had professional studio photos of her taken while wearing a beautiful gown handmade by her grandmother. So, as a birthday gift to her, they had their grand daughter (their daughter’s daughter) put on the dress to recreate the original image & painting of her mother. How wonderful is that?! She came wearing the same dress, a gold bracelet, her hair in a bow just like her mama, & was ready with the exact same pose to match her mother’s. Above is the original painting of the portrait of her mom paired with the new photograph of the daughter. Isn’t she absolutely adorable?

This was so special to be a part of because of the sentiment of it all - taking something old & precious & recreating it in a new form. I think it’s so wonderful that these parents preserved the dress and painting so wonderfully so that they could have it recreated for their daughter’s birthday to make it extra special. It was an honor to have this photo session at my studio & help recreate this original image.
We went on to take many more beautiful & fun photos of the grand daughter to capture her personality & the joy of this fun age! I absolutely loved this photo session!
